CHEF OF YEAR for 2022 | South Carolina
On February 21 2022, Heirloom, led by Executive Chef JR Bandy, was recognized as the Upstate’s Chef of the Year by South Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association. This announcement was made at the Stars of the Industry Awards Gala held in Greenville, which included all of the industry leaders spanning the Upstate. We are incredibly humbled and proud of this well-deserved recongition. Chef Bandy has poured his heart into growing the food scene in Spartanburg, and promoting the farm-to-table movement in the Upstate. His talents have also been recognized after sweeping the awards at the March of Dimes gala in 2019, earning the Best Taste and Judge’s Choice awards. We are, indeed, honored and proud to earn this nod among our peers in a city whose roots we honor and showcase with our locally-inspired farm-to-table fare.
BEST BARTENDER of 2022 | South Carolina
On February 21 2022, Heirloom, led by Head Mixologist, Ben Fleming was recognized as Bartender of the Year by South Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association. This announcement was made at the Stars of the Industry Awards Gala held at 1881 Event Center in February, which included all of the industry leaders spanning Spartanburg/Greenville to Charleston. The thoughtful curation of wine, spirits, beers, and our craft cocktails have been a hallmark of Heirloom, and a direct reflection of Ben’s leadership and passion. We are proud to earn this nod among our peers in a city whose roots we honor and showcase with our locally-inspired farm-to-table fare.
FAN FAVORITE for 2021 | UPSTATE
In the Fall of 2021, Six & Twenty Distillery held its annual Upstate Craft Cocktail competition. This competition included the premier cocktail bars and mixologist across Greenville and Spartanburg. Heirloom was humbled and honored for the SECOND consecutive year as the Fan Favorite Award. For the upcoming month will be showcasing the signature cocktail we created for the competition.
FAN FAVORITE for 2020 | UPSTATE
In the Fall of 2020, Six & Twenty Distillery held an Upstate Craft Cocktail competition. This competition included the premier cocktail bars and mixologist across Greenville and Spartanburg. Heirloom was honored with the Fan Favorite Award for their Smoke & Spice cocktail. This cocktail featured dark rye bourbon, apple spice syrup, bitters, and cherry wood smoke.
BEST TASTE for 2019& JUDGE’S CHOICE AWARDS
On October 2nd 2019, Heirloom, led by Chef John Robert Bandy took home two of three awards at Spartanburg’s annual fundraiser for the March of Dimes hosted at the Spartanburg Marriott. This year’s benefit which raised almost $200,000 for the March of Dimes, showcased the talents of some of Spartanburg’s local culinary elite at one of the tastiest galas in town. Chef Bandy and his team were honored with the Best Taste award as well as the Judge’s Choice award establishing Heirloom’s place among the city’s most noted restaurant groups and chefs. The evening paid tribute to the excellence of Spartanburg’s dining scene with some of the cities’ signature chefs from restaurants, such as Willy Taco, Cribbs Kitchen, and the Fr8 Yard; Rick Irwin’s Level10 atop the AC Hotel; Spartanburg’s The Eatery, II Samuels, Delaney’s, and Sparks at the Marriott. It was truly Spartanburg’s finest food creators on a stage where Chef Bandy and his team made an impressive statement about Heirloom’s creative approach to classic favorites.
